The Lincoln School of Architecture & Design

The Lincoln School of Architecture is located in one of the most historic cathedral cities of Europe and sited in a purpose-built facility designed by the world-renowned architect Rick Mather. The School offers a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment founded on the research and consultancy interests of its academics and practitioners. Lincoln is an ideal city in which to study architecture and the built environment. As an urban campus in a small and compact city, students have the benefit of easy access to the historic centre with its many amenities.

This year’s Summer School has an interdisciplinary approach between Architecture and Engineering focusing exclusively on Sustainable & Resilient Architecture: Low Carbon Communities, in the context of carbon management and
energy use in the built environment. The 15 day International Summer School has been extremely successful for the last 5 years and offers a unique knowledge & cultural experience, delivering a combination of inspiring lectures, project work and workshops. The summer school includes field trips and visits to some of the best UK cities including London as well as sports, social and cultural events.

Who should attend? The Summer School is open to participants from all over the world, offering a unique learning experience to current students and recent graduates with an interest in design and engineering, sustainable architecture, sustainable urban design and the built environment.

A certificate of attendance acknowledging students engagement with the course will be presented to all those that complete the summer school.

The summer school tutors include practising architects, engineers, historians, academics and researchers with varied cultural and international backgrounds.
